Dear Minister Freeland
I am writing to you on behalf of the Canadian Nuclear Workers’ Council (CNWC) to request federal support for the advancement of nuclear power, including small modular reactors (SMRs), in the 2021 federal budget. As you know, nuclear power is Canada’s second largest source of carbon free electricity. We believe that progressing Canada’s proud history of nuclear innovation will help us reach our carbon emissions targets and help create, and sustain, high quality Canadian jobs.
